Overview of the Key Players

CIDA or Canadian International Development Agency:
"Supporting sustainable development, reducing poverty and providing humanitarian assistance in order to promote a more secure,
equitable and prosperous world." - Canadian International Development Agency

CIDA aims to:
- reduce poverty
- promote human rights
- support sustainably development

Established in 1968 to help the official development assistance (ODA) program. CIDA's most promoted success is the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) that where achieved due to it's help.

WB or World Bank:
The World Bank is made up of two development institutions owned by 185 member countries—the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the International Development Association (IDA).
- IBRD
- Aims to reduce poverty in middle-income and credit worthy poor countries by promoting sustainable development through loans,
guarantees, risk management products, and analytical and advisory services.
- IDA
- Helps the poorest countries to reduce poverty by providing interest-free loans and grants for programs that will boost economic
growth, reduce inequalities, and improve the standard of living.

IMF or International Monetary Fund:
The IMF was established to promote international monetary cooperation, exchange economic stability, and orderly exchange arrangements. It also helps to foster economic growth and high levels of employment; and to provide temporary financial assistance to countries to help ease balance of payments adjustment.
